At 12:12 PM Eastern, we became aware of an issue preventing HLS streaming from operating for listeners served by our Bangalore, India (BLR) region, from a customer report. By 12:30 PM Eastern, the issue was mitigated and resolved. Listeners in the Indian subcontinent and Africa were primarily affected, and only HLS streaming. During the duration of the issue, HLS listeners would have been unable to stream.
Our preliminary investigation has shown that the issue was caused by a configuration error, potentially exposed by a recent upgrade we pushed out to our streaming servers. We will be continuing to investigate to ensure we fully understand the root cause and prevent a recurrence. We are also working to better understand the timeline and incidence of the issue.
